useful tips
- First get the infection out by doing a sitz bath in daily night. Sit in lukewarm water including potassium permanganate at least for 10 minutes. This has amazing wound healing capacity. Don’t do this if there is fresh blood and wound hasn’t healed. Once infection is out completely, add lavender essential oil to calendula and apply.
- Good hygiene can help in reduction of discomfort and also reduce the chance of increase of vaginal Fistula. So gently wash your outer genital part with warm water every time you experience vaginal release or passage of stool. Avoid rubbing with dry toilet paper. Wipes or moistened cotton balls may be a good alternative for cleaning the area. Allow the part to air-dry after washing. Avoid harsh or perfumed soap and also avoid aromatic tampons and pads. Apply a cold compress, such as a washcloth, to the labial part. Tight clothing can limit airflow and make skin problems worse. Change soiled underwear. Products such as absorbent pads and disposable underwear can help if you’re passing liquid or stool.
